The glass studios are closed from January 1, 2025 to January 14, 2025 due to routine maintenance. No glassblowing demonstrations will be given during this time.

Experience the mesmerizing world of glass during our public glass blowing demonstrations. Learn about the ancient art of glass blowing as our talented artists skillfully craft intricate pieces in our state-of-the-art hot shop. As molten glass transforms into works of art, demonstrating artists delve into the rich history of this craft while explaining the science behind glass, as they share insights into the material's unique properties. Discover the nuances of inspiration drawn from our museum collection, intertwining artistic expression with the stories encapsulated within our exhibits. Each demonstration lasts approximately 45 minutes. Objects are available for purchase after the experience and following a 24 hour annealing cycle.

Standard Private Demonstrations

Bring your group to watch works of art in glass take shape before your eyes – join Glass Studio Artists for live glassmaking demonstrations in our public Hot Shop at the Glass Pavilion.

Maximum # of participants: 50

Pricing: $350.00

A standard private demonstration is one hour long. The Glass Studio Artist will introduce the audience to the Hot Shop, and create an object, while explaining the process and history of blowing glass. Your group will have the option of purchasing the object made (following a 24-hour annealing cycle). The cost of the object is $125.00; shipping is available for a flat rate of $40.00.

Private Glass Art Workshops General Information

Groups looking to get hands-on experience in glass should look no further than hosting a Private Glass Art Workshop. Adults and teens aged 14+ will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with a Glass Studio Artist in the Hot Shop to create an object out of glass.

Pricing: Prices for Private Glass Art Workshops are flat rate per hour (up to 8 participants per hour).

Members: $280.00 per hour (8 participants)

Non-Members: $360.00 per hour (8 participants)
